Awarded the Royal Warrant in 1877, Pol Roger also has close associations with Britain's wartime prime-minister, Winston Churchill. He was such a good customer that after his death Pol Roger created a special cuvee named in his honour. This remains their top expression of Champagne from solely Grand Cru vineyards, and the exact blend is a closely guarded secret.
Tons of minerality and saline notes combine with a great acidity to make this a very lean, elegant Champagne. Layered on top is a nutty, biscuity character with hints of red and tropical fruits. Textured and light in the mouth, this Champagne has greatness written all over it and will last for decades if stored carefully.
